This is the Steeda MT-82 Tri-Ax Race Short Throw Shifter which is a full factory shifter assembly replacement for your vehicle. This is a race inspired short throw shifter assembly designed to eliminate all slop and deflection that was inherent of the factory shifter which retains some of the factory characteristics such as the factory shift knob, pull-up style reverse lockout, as well as the backup camera functionality.
The Steeda Short Throw Shifter will provide you with a 30% reduction in throw between gear shifts. Additionally, this shifter assembly will also lower the shift knob by 1" to put it in a better power shifting position. The MT-82 Tri-Ax Race Short Throw Shifter is quieter than the stock shifter during daily driving, however, during high-performance and race-like driving conditions there will be a slight increase in NVH.
Steeda designed everything on their short shifter kit to be top-loaded. And it will come complete with 2 medium-resistance springs as well as 2 high-resistance springs. The Tri-Ax has adjustable return springs to fit every drivers' preference on shifter feel. Using an offset spring tension will ensure that you hit your 2nd to 3rd gear change every time. And since it is top loaded, once the base plate is mounted you can change all of your springs, levers, as well as the rest of the options all from inside the vehicle without taking out the full shifter assembly.
The Steeda MT-82 Tri-Ax Race Short Shifter has been crafted from high-quality aircraft grade aluminum materials which makes it 20% lighter than other competitive shifter assemblies. The shift lever on the Tri-Ax is made from heat treated and nickel plated 4140 steel which makes it the strongest part out on the market. All of the hardware is stainless steel for the highest corrosion resistance possible. And the hardware that is included in the kit will tighten the factory shift knob perfectly into a locking position. Steeda has also tested this shift knob both on the street and on the track and are proven not to bind under extreme conditions or temperatures.
